Postgraduate doctoral research student scholarships — SSPSSR (University of Kent)

12-day sessions for 2013 - Intercultural Program in Israel "Coexistence in the Middle East" at The Hebrew University

I am happy to inform you that we have opened two additional intensive 12-day sessions of our intercultural full-credit program in Israel "Coexistence in the Middle East" at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem between August 4-15, 2013 and December 29, 2013 – January 9, 2014.

In light of the great interest in our program from around the world and many petitions from interested professionals who can´t attend the month-long course, we have decided to offer these additional sessions which may be of interest.

Competition opening for a postdoctoral fellowship financed by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) funded Major Collaborative Research Initiatives (MCRI), Religion and Diversity Project (Director Lori Beaman, University of Ottawa), at the University of Montreal’s Faculté de théologie et de sciences des religions, with Solange Lefebvre, Chaire religion, culture et société.

The amount of the fellowship is $25,000 for one year, beginning in the fall of 2013 (+ $10,000 in research contracts) = Total $ 35,000

Two postdoctoral research positions, CETREN, University of Göttingen

The University of Göttingen is launching a transregional research network (CETREN) under the broad thematic rubric “The Politics of the New”, funded by the German Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF). For its pilot project, “Secularism and New Religiosities”, CETREN seeks to fill 2 Postdoctoral Research Positions.

The two positions, to begin in October 2013, will be offered as two-year fixed-term contracts on a full-time basis (currently 39,8 hours per week) and will be remunerated at the TV-L E13 level (in accordance with the German public sector pay scale).

Call for Graduate Students: Research Possibilities at the University of Ottawa — The Religion and Diversity Project

The Religion and Diversity Project, a SSHRC funded Major Collaborative Research Initiative, is seeking new PhD level students who are interested in completing thesis research related to the goals of the project (see project proposal at in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of Ottawa. Students will be supervised by either Dr. Lori Beaman (Project Director) and/or Dr. Peter Beyer (Project Co-investigator).

Postdoctoral fellowships in South Asian Studies (2013-2014) — Harvard University South Asia Institute (SAI)

The Harvard University South Asia Institute (SAI) will offer postdoctoral fellowships in South Asian studies to recent PhDs in the humanities and social sciences for the Academic Year 2013-2014.

The Postdoctoral Fellowship Grant:

1. Each postdoctoral fellowship will cover a 10-month period, beginning September 1, 2013, with a stipend of $50,000, health insurance coverage for the grantee, and roundtrip travel funds.

2. Postdoctoral fellows will be provided office space, access to the libraries and resources of Harvard University.
